Competition is a key part of the Surf Life Saving movement in Australia. It attracts many people to the movement in the first place, generates valuable publicity for the Clubs and Surf Life Saving generally and keeps club members fit and strong, with well-developed rescue skills. The Australian Surf Life Saving Titles attracts entries from over 7,000 competitors each year, making it the second largest sporting event in the world (in terms of participants). Only the Olympic Games are bigger in terms of competitor numbers!

No matter what your sporting level or interest, Surf Life Saving will probably have an area suited to you. From the international level Ironmen and Women to the intra-club weekly surf races to the traditions of the march past teams, there a plenty of ways to get involved in competition.
